STRUCTURE OF
THE EVENT
The "Green Campus Summit 2013" will be organised in two main strands :
Strand 1: Displays
Participating universities and organisations will be able to put-up displays describing their works and projects and to distribute the relevant information to the participants. The displays will be the backbone of the event and will allow close, one-to-one contacts between the participants and the exhibitors.
Strand 2: Presentations
A set of presentations, divided into three sections will be organised, dealing with the challenges of campus sustainability initiatives. These are :
Session 1 : Research and Outreach Programmes for campus greening initiatives
Session 2 : Integrating green initiatives with the core activities
Session 3 : Models and case studies of campus sustainability programmes
The presentations will be complemented by a round-table with some key experts.
Recent research and case studies covering any aspects of campus sustainability will be accepted. Some of the topics include
environment education and curriculum development
outreach programmes
sustainable management of water resources(water harvesting, greywater reclamation and reuse, etc..)
energy efficiency and green energy
solid waste/ hazardous waste/ toxic waste management
food services and food security
biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration
land use management
green buildings
green purchasing
sustainable transportation
integration of technology for campus sustainabilityStrand 3: Exhibits
A number of organisations will network and do business by showcasing the latest in innovative products and services that enables the campuses to increase their sustainability quotient.
